Our group of four was asked to redesign the desktop interface based on a chosen demographics' needs. We chose fashion design students as the university we were attending was part of Central Saint Martins. We chose to design the interface as if it were the designer's work table. On the right is a toolbox full of projects in progress and useful tools. Files modified often were placed up front and center on the desktop, while other files were easily searchable with our custom spotlight bar. A tagging function was also added to allow for organization. Extensive usability tests were conducted after completion of our prototype. I gained much knowledge about UCD and usability from this project after watching many people be both confused and delighted by it.
